The NVIDIA MMS4A20 (OPN 980-9IAT0-00XM00) is an 800 Gb/s single-mode transceiver for XDR InfiniBand. It sits on the adapter side of the link, connecting ConnectX-8 SuperNICs, including the mezzanine cards in liquid-cooled systems, to Quantum-X800 QM3x00 switches fitted with twin-port 2x800G optics.
• Electrical side: four lanes of 200G-PAM4 (106.25 GBd per lane) • Optical side: DR4 over a single MPO-12/APC connector, 1310 nm, up to 500 m on 9 µm single-mode fibre • Single-port OSFP with a flat top for riding-heat-sink (RHS) cages and liquid-cooled designs • 18 W maximum, 2 W in low-power mode; 3.3 V supply; CMIS 4.0 management with secure firmware boot • Operating case temperature 0 to 70 °C
It is a Class 1 laser product, hot-pluggable and RoHS compliant. Pair it with NVIDIA-qualified switch-side optics and APC-polished fibre for supported end-to-end links.
