The Dell 407-BBXU is Dell's own short-reach 25 Gigabit Ethernet optic for SFP28 ports on Dell PowerSwitch data-centre switches and compatible Dell server adapters.

Choosing the Dell-branded optic avoids the unsupported-transceiver warnings some Dell OS10 platforms raise with third-party modules and keeps the whole link under one support contract. Usable distance depends on fibre grade, so check Dell's documentation for the OM3/OM4 figure that applies to your cabling.

Like other SFP28 optics, it is hot-pluggable, so a link can be brought up or swapped while the switch keeps forwarding traffic on its other ports. Plan on clean, inspected LC patch cords to get full performance at 25 Gb/s.
