The PowerEdge R260 is a compact single-socket 1U server with a shallow chassis (about 43 cm deep with the cabled power supply and no bezel), so it fits the short network racks and wall cabinets common in branch offices and retail sites.

Dell's starting configuration pairs an Intel Xeon E-2434 (4 cores, 8 threads, 3.4 GHz) with one 32 GB DDR5 ECC UDIMM, a 1 TB 7,200 rpm SATA hard drive in a cabled 3.5-inch bay and a 450 W Platinum power supply.

• Four DDR5 UDIMM slots, up to 128 GB in total • Two cabled 3.5-inch bays in this chassis; a six-bay 2.5-inch hot-plug version is also offered • Two embedded 1 GbE ports and a dedicated iDRAC9 port • Up to two low-profile PCIe Gen4 slots (riser not included in the base build)
