The Dell 470-ABPY is a one-metre passive copper direct-attach cable with QSFP28 connectors on both ends, sized for 100 Gigabit Ethernet connections within a single rack, such as a top-of-rack PowerSwitch down to a PowerEdge server or between stacked switches.

Short passive DACs are the most economical way to light up 100G ports: there are no optical modules to buy, power draw is minimal and the factory-terminated assembly delivers a very low bit-error rate.
