The Cisco UCS VIC 15427 is a modular LAN-on-motherboard (mLOM) adapter for Cisco UCS C-Series rack servers. This part number is the version for M7 and M8 servers. It has four SFP+/SFP28/SFP56 ports that run Ethernet or FCoE at 10, 25 or 50 Gb/s.
It uses a PCIe 4.0 x16 host connection and Cisco's virtual interface technology, so the same card can present multiple virtual NICs and HBAs to the operating system or hypervisor. Compared with the earlier VIC 15428, it adds secure boot for the adapter firmware.

Because it sits in the dedicated mLOM slot, it leaves the PCIe riser slots free for GPUs or storage controllers. It connects to Cisco fabric interconnects or directly to top-of-rack switches such as the Nexus 9000 family.
