The Cisco QSFP-100G-CU3M= is a 100GBASE-CR4 direct-attach cable: four lanes of passive copper terminated in a QSFP28 module at both ends. It is the simplest and lowest-power way to run 100 Gigabit Ethernet across a rack or into the neighbouring one.
With no lasers and no separate transceivers, it removes optics cost from short leaf-spine, switch-to-server and storage links on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms. The = suffix marks the spare/standalone ordering version.
